The SIM Card Registration will be extended || Sam George

The government's decision to not extend the deadline for SIM reregistration, according to Ningo Prampram Member of Parliament Samuel Nartey George, is merely rhetoric.

The deadline will be extended, he said.

The deadline is still July 31 according to notice given by Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, minister of communications and digitalization.

It was previously moved up from March 31 to July 31.

"It will take more time to upgrade the SIM Registration App for diplomat registration, but a Self-Service SIM Registration App is also being developed to make it easier for Ghanaians living overseas to register their SIM cards.

According to a statement made on Tuesday, March 22 by Madam Owusu-Ekuful, "This will be operational by mid-April."

On Friday, July 22, she made an appeal to everyone who hasn't reregistered their cards to do so before the deadline while speaking at a forum in Kumasi.

In light of this, she pleaded with them to act before July 31.

However, Sam George stated that "What she said in Kumasi is simply chatter, it is not factual, and she will extend it" on the Key Points on TV3 on Saturday, July 30.

Sam George added that some people are unable to connect their SIM and Ghana Card. When they try to, they get the message "Invalid input" instead, which is a problem he attributed to system inefficiencies.

Additionally, he claimed that the registration centers' lengthy lines make it difficult for people to sign up.

Is it not arbitrary that you haven't dealt with everything and are punishing people for it? Isn't that arbitrary? "He questioned on Saturday, July 30, on Key Points on TV3.
